Who is Eva Maes?

Hello! I am a teacher/learning and educational career counselor in secondary education, living in Ronse, the heart of the Flemish Ardennes (Belgium).

I had long been intrigued by my family history and in 2022 I decided to dive into it seriously. Since then, there was no holding back. See the result here, or rather the “work in progress”. It is a never-ending story!

The stories a family tree reveals are beautiful, captivating, and sometimes dramatic. They reflect the zeitgeist of decades or centuries ago, and are sometimes an introduction to old “forgotten” professions. You’ll even discover vanished streets and, on the other hand, centuries-old streets that still exist today, so thanks to addresses named in deeds, you can now go see exactly where your ancestors lived.
